Mississippi State University was founded in 1878 as a land grant institution and is one of the nation’s top universities for military students. MSU’s Center for Continuing Education functions independently from main campus, offering non-credit Advanced Career Trainings that are approved to provide funding for soldiers and their spouses. It is important to MSU’s Center for Continuing Education to prioritize the needs of military personnel and their families in such a meaningful way!
Military Friendly
Mississippi State is recognized as a 2023-2024 top 10 Military Friendly school for its commitment to supporting service members, veterans and their dependents.
Affordable Advanced Career Training Programs
Advanced Career Training (ACT) online is an excellent way to support the career advancement of soldiers and their spouses while accommodating their unique circumstances. These trainings assist soldiers and their spouses in obtaining credentials and licenses in a wide variety of career fields. These trainings not only enhance skills and knowledge but also open up new opportunities for soldiers and their families wherever they may be stationed. Today’s employers are looking at certifications as a benchmark of an employee’s knowledge and skills.

- Program Manager
MSU Center for Continuing Education is an approved partner school for the following programs:
The GI Bill and FAFSA
- GI Bill: Credentialing Assistance is not part of the GI Bill program and is funded separately. MSU’s Center for Continuing Education is not approved to accept GI Bill funding.
- FAFSA: the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to determine government financial aid opportunities for prospective and current students. Non-credit, certificate programs do not qualify for typical financial aid. Therefore, MSU’s Center for Continuing Education is not eligible to accept FAFSA funding.
